This is the result of two crazy afternoons in my art room experimenting with nylon stockings ha! I just cut some shapes out of pantyhose, hand sewed the sides, stuffed them with polyfill and then slathered them with gesso. I basically treated them like an art canvas, as if I were doing an art journal page. They were FUN to make!

Here's the link where I bought my doll skin.  Her prices are very reasonable. Have fun making your doll!

Thank you Sue for sharing that info :)  I'll keep an eye out for it and check Etsy too.... sounds like something fun to try. You've inspired me to go through my sock drawer as well lol!

Hi JoAnn, Thank you for the nice compliments. Doll skin is just a thin stretchy material you can use to make dolls. It's a great fabric if you can find it and what I love about it, is that you can get this cloth in all kinds of flesh tones.  I bought mine at Etsy but I still use nylon too. :)

Oh my goodness these are amazing!  I love all three of them :)   Very clever to use nylons that's something I would not have thought to use....may I ask what is doll skin?

Thanks for your comments Guada and Barb. I love to make these dolls and yes any stretchy fabric will do. If you have doll skin fabric it would probably be easier to cut than is nylon.

From a drawing to watercolor

Do you like drawing?

I have to confess I didn´t liked drawing when I started painting faces years ago.

My mother who went to art school always told me: If you don´t focus on sketching and drawing you will struggle with that portraits for ever...

And she was right!

I remember the exact day when i realized I could was like crossing a river, I just needed to cross my mental resistance about drawing, and DRAW.

This was my first "you can do this!" drawing ♥

Since that day I fell in love with drawing.

One drawing made all the difference and I realized I just needed to sketch more, draw more ...and think less about sketching and drawing.

Actually I think I´m better drawing than painting.
Funny isn´t it? 😉

She is one of my latest sketches...and I don´t have any shame to say I LOVE her.

She went from drawing to watercolor and this was the result 😊
I know...they look like day and night but I love both.
